The International Pet Advisory Council (IPAC) was
established in October 1995 at the International Pet Exposition and
Conference in Las Vegas. Since 1995, IPAC has hosted a series of meetings
at InterZoo, Nuremberg, so that interested industry members could
meet to discuss issues affecting our industry and to exchange ideas.
During the IPAC meeting at InterZoo 2001, it once
again became clear that better communication and information exchange
between trade associations would allow all of us to serve our members
more effectively. Everyone recognized that a number of important issues
(CITES, biodiversity, invasive species) are global issues, and require
increased industry interaction and communication. Obvious routes to
achieve these objectives include a mechanism to electronically link
the IPAC through a website and a listserver.
